Cornwall is a ceremonial county in England, and is located on the tip of the south western peninsula, right next to the county of Devon. Cornwall is situated by the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west and to the south by the English Channel. Given its superb location, Cornwall is one of the most popular places for a family vacation in England. It has everything that a holiday destination deems necessary – excellent accommodation, activities and amusement options for everyone in the family.

There are several places to visit on your Holiday in Cornwall.

Truro

This is the administrative centre and only city in Cornwall. It was initially just a port, and then became a stannary town for the mining industry. Now in addition, the city is well known for its cathedral and Georgian architecture. Places of interest in Truro include the Royal Cornwall Museum, the Hall for Cornwall, Cornwall’s Court of Justice and Cornwall Council.

Newquay

Newquay is a seaside resort and fishing port, situated on the north Atlantic coast of Cornwall about 12 miles north of Truro. The town has been a major tourist destination because of its coastline and sandy beaches. Newquay has been dubbed as the surf capital of the UK and hosts many international competitions. The best surf beach is Fistral Beach, which has one of the best beach breaks in UK. Apart from the surf and sand, there is much to do in Newquay. These include Trenance Leisure Gardens which is excellent for quiet walks and Newquay Zoo which is home to 300 animals of over 130 species.

St. Ives

This town lies north of Penzance and west of Camborne and is now a famous holiday resort. When one thinks of St. Ives, the first thought in mind is art, as it is centred on this theme. It is famous for its galleries, and in 1993, a branch of the Tate Gallery, the Tate St Ives opened here. This town is a great place to visit if you are looking for a relaxing holiday.

Falmouth

This is a town and port situated on the River Fal on the south coast of Cornwall. It is famous as being the start or finish point of various round the world voyages such as those of Sir Francis Chichester and Dame Ellen MacArthur. One of the notable attractions here is Pendennis Castle, one of King Henry VIII’s Device Forts built in 1539. Today, Falmouth is a popular tourist destination and has five main beaches starting next to Pendennis Castle. These beaches are Castle, Tunnel, Gyllyngyase, Swanpool and Meanporth beaches.

Truth – 2000

This is an elegant perfume that was launched in 2000. It was built on the contrast between the notes of cool, fresh grass and the warmth of woman’s skin and exudes natural floral fragrances.

Euphoria – 2005

The exotic floral-fruity fragrance Euphoria was launched in 2005 and has been one of the most popular lines of Calvin Klein Perfume over the years. It gives you a sense of mystery and appeal, and includes notes of rose hip, Japanese apple, green leaves, lotus, black orchid, red woods, black violet and amber. Euphoria was created by Dominique Ropion, Carlos Benaim and Loc Dong.

Eternity Summer – 2010

This is a casual, fresh and silent perfume that was released in March 2010. It was presented along side a limited unisex edition CK One Summer 2010 and introduces relaxing notes ideal for warmer months of the year. Sun, sea, sand and fresh morning breeze were inspiration for this perfume edition. Eternity Summer 2010 for women incorporates grapefruit, ginger and passionflower in top notes, middle notes of pink peony, freesia and lily of the valley, and a base note of creamy musk, white amber and driftwood.

Beauty – 2010

This fragrance was released in October 2010 and is noted for its elegant fragrance composition. In fact, elegance, sophistication, timelessness and beauty are inspiration for Beauty. The fragrance was created by Sophie Labbe, and features notes such as ambrette seed, jasmine and cedar.

Exeter is the capital city of Devon, located in the Southwest of England. It is situated on the River Exe, and provides the county of Devon with a central base for a wide variety of things such as education, religion and commerce. There are so many things to offer visitors and locals in Exeter, some of these include the Cathedral, Castle Drogo, Northenhay Gardens and a massive shopping centre. In addition, Exeter is also an excellent location for food and drinks, it has hundreds of establishments and international menus, and has been voted one of the top places to eat out in the UK.

What makes Exeter exceptional with food is the easy access to fresh, local Devon produce. From fruits and vegetables, meat, cheese, seafood, vineyards and so on, there is everything that a restaurant needs nearby. With cafes and teashops in historic buildings, restaurants and bistros with excellent views and top of the notch independent restaurants serving quality food, there is something for all palates in Exeter.

If you are on the go and do not have time for a proper meal, there are several delicatessens and markets offering seasonal local food. There are several annual markets and events in the city as well, such as the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink in April, and the Continental Market. Pub food in Exeter is extremely popular – the pubs have been serving for hundreds of years, and have excellent ales and fine wines to suit their meals. There are several fish and seafood restaurants as well, always a popular choice for eating out in Exeter. Fine dining, bistros and brasseries are also available.

There are so many Exeter restaurants to choose from throughout the city. The Jack in the Green in Rockbeare, is located in the countryside, and serves dishes with an emphasis on fresh, local and seasonal produce. This restaurant won the Best Restaurant in the South West of England award by the Taste of the West Awards in 2009/2010, and is one of the top 100 restaurants in the UK.

Another excellent location for eating out in Exeter is La Petite Maison in Topsham, around 15 minutes from the centre of Exeter. This restaurant features a range of dishes that changes accordingly with seasons, by using fresh local produce when it is as its very best.

Devon, located in South West England is the ideal location for a memorable vacation. Whether it is a romantic holiday, a family holiday or a holiday with friends, Devon provides a perfect setting for all. The Exmoor National Park is shared between Devon and Somerset and sprawls across 260 square miles.

Family attractions are plentiful in Devon. Paignton Zoo, situated in east Devon is home to thousands of plants and animals and is recommended for families with young children. It has different types of environments that animals live and thrive in. Woodlands Adventure Park is another family attraction that has a range of activities to keep both children and adults entertained. With 16 family rides, indoor play centres and play zones, this is a perfect outing no matter what the weather is like! Pennywell Farm is the biggest farm activities park in the southwest region. It displays a number of animals, and has many rides as well. River Dart Country Park is a great adventure day out, and offers a toddlers beach and obstacle courses for the young, and lovely scenic walks for those who want less adventure.
